WP1 Direct costs & production processes

The objective of WP1 is the compilation and analysis of methods, data and terminology for the assessment of direct costs as well as of losses caused by the disruption of production processes due to natural hazards. Information (e.g. case study reports, methods, damage data bases) and terminology will be systemized and similarities and differences between the different natural hazards will be detected. Recommendations for best practice of cost assessments will be given and research needs will be identified. To reach these goals, a literature review including project reports will be undertaken. Additional input will be gained from the stakeholder workshops.
