WP4 Adaptation & mitigation incl. climate change

The objective of Work Package 4 is to provide an overview of approaches for natural hazard risk prevention and in particular their evaluation frameworks. Risk prevention includes the reduction of risk, as well as preparedness and emergency response strategies, and climate adaptation. This overview will help to identify research gaps for the evaluation of risk reduction, across different natural hazards, and different European countries. It will also provide an analysis of the role of empirical data collection on risk reduction. The final outcome of the work package is background paper on the state-of-the-art of mitigation and adaptation evaluation approaches, and a final methodology report mitigation and adaptation frameworks.
