WP8 Costs of Alpine hazards

Alpine areas and other mountainous regions are especially vulnerable to natural hazards. The combination of high exposure and vulnerability of human and natural environments make alpine regions an object of special research. Despite of the compilation, analysis and assessment of methods and case studies for alpine vulnerabilities and corresponding monetary evaluation methods, the determination of research gaps for alpine risks considering multi-risk approaches and emergency costs and the definition of best practices for estimating emergency costs and costs triggered by alpine hazards are essential components this work package.
